Design of fish leather products in the context of revitalization of the Kola North tradition

The article discusses the prospects for revitalizing the traditions and technologies of working with fish skin. The research is based on the ideas of recycling and transformation of traditional technologies in modern culture. Materials are presented on the history of the evolution of special dressing technologies and the creation of fish skin goods, both in the culture of the indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East, and in the era of industrial processing of fish resources. The study is based on an assessment of fish skin as a material for modern design collections, including consideration of aesthetic and utilitarian preferences of consumers. The article provides examples of the fish skin usage. As a result, a conclusion was made about the potential of the traditions of working with fish skin in modern culture.
