Here we present the results of searching for the significant SNPs, associated with the live weight at weaning in southern meat lambs. We got the list of significant SNPs by the fixation indices method based on the Illumina microarray genotyping. We compared the list of candidate genes for the live weight at weaning and for adult ewes of the southern meat breed and found just one coincidence SNPs in the U2 gene. These results indicate the difference in gene sets which are involved in the formation of live weight trait at different ontogenesis stages. More precise investigation of the candidate genes and significant SNPs could be very useful for the investigation of the genes’ networks which influence on this growth trait and to improve the production of the southern meat breed.
