As a result of the comprehensive study of the Elamite legal texts of the first half of the 2 nd millennium BC, particularly of those loan and sale agreements that are of great importance from the legal angle, the distinct kind of legal culture has been revealed. The Elamite legal culture was formed under the influence of Sumerian culture, but stagnation in the development of the legal culture of Elam continued until the end of the 2 nd millennium BC. The judicial system of Elam was similar to the system of Ashur. The Babylonian legal culture influenced the active application of the recording and registration practice of various types of private-law transactions in Elam of the 2 nd millennium B.
