The doctrine of soft power of modern Russia: a basic strategy for strengthening national security

Introduction: the article reveals the dynamics of the revision of approaches to foreign policy and the national idea during the construction of the post-Soviet system of Russian statehood. Materials and Methods: the article used legislative acts, including the Constitution of the Russian Federation, as an empirical basis. The methodology of the study was a set of general scientific and specific legal methods. Results: the political and legal peculiarities of the formation of national priorities with regard to their impact on socio-economic development of the country were considered. Discussion and Conclusions: the author concludes that the issues of rethinking of historical choice, the strategy of preservation of national identity and national security of Russia are currently becoming particularly relevant and it determines the analysis of the results of socio-economic and political transformations of Russia at the present stage, as well as the search and proposal of specific development concepts.
