The situation when a person takes on credit liabilities can act as a long-term stress. If it is accompanied with a number of other negative elements associated with loan servicing and security, it can even lead to personality desadaptation, emotional disorders and form the basis for deviant behavior in some individuals. The aim of the research: to perform a multipurpose analysis of population debt load indicators and assess its potential connection with increased suicide risk. Materials and methods: according to data received from Rosstat and the Bank of Russia, the assessment was performed of the financial indicators that characterize the level of population debt load on bank loans (per capita income, per capita loan debt including overdue debt, debt load on loans, per capita deposit, savings level for 2010-2016) and on microfinance organizations loans. The comparative analysis to assess possible connection of these indicators with the level of deaths by suicide was made. The data was processed with the help of program packages of Excel10 and STASTICA-10. Results: it is shown that the level of loans to population has been growing in Russia lately. At the same time, the share of the overdue loans during 2010-2016 is 3 times higher than the maximum level recommended by the Bank of Russia. The index of suicide mortality has been, on the contrary, going down (23,4 in 2010, 17,4 in 2015). The correlation connections evaluation does not allow to attribute loans overdue to prosuicidal factors. Moreover, lower levels of deaths by suicide correlate with higher volume of loans overdue with synchronous higher income and bank deposit levels. Conclusions: the univocal conclusion concerning relatively restrictive influence of credit debt can be made with caution. Probably, the debt load on its own can not be viewed as a system prosu-icidal factor. It is well acceptable that its negative influence is more significant on individual level under condition of interdependent action of two potentiating elements (for example, job loss, breadwinner loss, collectors actions and so on) that lead to personality desadaptation. Still, the authors believe that these aspects of possible suicide activity must necessarily be the object of the analysis by mental health specialists when suicide anamnesis from risk groups is collected. Also it should be interesting for financial and economic institutions collaborators. Besides traditional markers, overdue loan payments can serve as a possible indicator of suicide activity.
