Domestication in china: an attempt to generalize data

This article aims to demonstrate the current state of research in the studyof the history of domestication: particular attention is devoted to China. In recent yearsthanks to the appearance of new methods, scholars have been able to make major advancesin the substantiation of dates for the domestication of various species of animals andthe identification of where these processes took place. China’s place as one of the maincentres of domestication has been confirmed, although by no means all species were firstdomesticated there independently of other centres: most of the species were brought intoChina from outside
