The review provides an overview of the contents of the first volume of the collection of documents “Don in the Years of the Revolution and the Civil War”, prepared under the guidance of the Doctor of Sciences, O. M. Morozova scientists and professional archivists of the leading archives of the Rostov region to the 100th anniversary of the Revolution and the Civil War. The collection was compiled on the basis of materials from mainly the Don archives. In addition, the documents of the State Archives of the Russian Federation and the Russian State Military Archive were used. Significant work is being done to identify sources that reflect large-scale processes of systemic transformation of Russian society and power, changes in political moods, politicization of public consciousness as well as everyday life of the population of the Don region. The documents presented in the collection significantly supplement the source base and expand the current understanding of the dramatic events of those years.
