The article analyzes and defines the procedure for pre-trial settlement as a form of protecting the rights and legitimate interests of a group of persons and an indefinite circle of persons - consumers, its legal essence and the content of a public contract under the civil law of the Russian Federation, and also analyzes the existing judicial practice in cases related to the named problems, in order to determine the mandatory use of pre-trial procedure, as well as to identify its advantages for resolving disputes in the field of consumer protection.
