Leisure activity of university teaching staff

Leisure activity of university teaching staff is considered as one of the most important spheres of life in the contemporary socio-economic conditions. The article presents the analysis of the concepts “leisure”, “leisure activity” and the peculiarities of leisure activity. In the article are revealed the contradictions that define resources and opportunities of leisure activity in terms of professional self-development of university teaching staff. It is proved that leisure activity creates a stable basis for the professional growth of the university teaching staff. In order to study the effectiveness of leisure activity in the professional self-development of university teaching staff, we identified the most important personality traits: gnostical, communicative and organizational. Special attention is paid to the study of individual creative potential as a factor of professional self-development of university teaching staff.
