Бесплатный доступ

G. Hauptmann is one of neoromantic writers. He inherited all the traditions of romanticism, but goes forward, creatively modifying romantic principles as a modern writer. Hauptmann depicts the world and the human being in continuous development, in eternal motion, in everlasting changing. Master Henry, the main character of Hauptmann''s drama, is not able to realize the unity of opposites in his consciousness, such as good and evil, dream and reality, love and hatred, life and death. However, it allows him to cross the frontier of his existence, to change his consciousness. He is seized with reflection up to the moment when a certain circle of his life is completed.
