Drama and theatrical translation of plays by Ibragim Mammeev

The article is devoted to the famous Balkarian playwright and translator Ibrahim Mammeev (02/05/1919-10/17/2004), whose work is distinguished by its ideological and thematic diversity. The author analyzes the originality of his dramatic handwriting, as well as the peculiarities of I. Mammeev's translations of famous dramatic works of world and Russian classics into the Balkar language. The creative work of I. Mammeev vividly reflects the desire to update the subject, expand the possibilities of the word in revealing people's lives, and develop new stage forms. The constituent parts of many plays and I. Mammeyev's songs, games, dances, elements of folk festivals become. I. Mammeyev in his plays sought to give some ideas about the culture and life of his people, to acquaint the audience with the traditions, cultural and moral values of the Balkars. I. Mammeyev managed to preserve the stylization of speech in the translation of plays, but at the same time, it is a natural and simple language that clearly expresses the idea of a dramatic work. Thanks to his artistic talent, when translating plays, he transformed into heroes, trying to get into their national character, cultural traditions. Based on the results of the research, the authors conclude that the plays and translations of Ibrahim Mammeev have largely updated the Balkarian drama, enriching it with new images, motifs, and a peculiar artistic language.
