The article is intended to discuss evidence and hypotheses concerning Egyptian ruler named «Horus Sankhibtawy, King of Upper and Lower Egypt Sankhibra», known from the still unpublished inscription on an architrave from Heliopolis. The reconstruction «Sankh[ibra]» also does well for the destroyed royal name on a cornice of the chapel erected by Mentuhotep I in Gebelein. The identity of Sankhibra of the Heliopolitan architrave with Mentuhotep I seems rather probable.
