In the ancient Egyptian writing of dynasties XI-XII the expression n(y)-wn-mAa was mostly perceived as belonging to substandard language. In the «Tale of Eloquent Peasant» it is deliberately inserted in the protagonist's speech to implicitly characterize him as an illiterate small trader striving to speak glibly and flowery, but in fact ignorant of the norms of true eloquence.
