Kalmyk lyrical poetry of the 20th century: friendly literary parody

The article deals with friendly literary parody in Kalmyk lyrical poetry of the 1930-1960s. Quite a few Kalmyk poets occasionally teither publicly (Garya Davaev, Mikhail Khoninov, Timofei Bembeev, Sanzhara Baidyev) or anonymously, or pseudonymously (‘Umshach’, ‘Arzin Khar’). Quantitatively, the authors usually created cycles of parodies (4 to 21) without further experiments. The genre would be explicitly defined as literary parody (‘Umshach’, ‘Arzin Khar’), friendly disputes (Garya Davaev, Timofei Bembeev) - or implicitly (Mikhail Khoninov, Sanzhara Baidyev). In terms of time, newspaper and journal texts of parodies served as a certain means of communication: authors and objects of parodies - contemporaries, the described events being current ones. As for purposes, those were friendly - essentially humoristic and comic rather than satirical - parodies that did not aim to discredit the original. The subjects of parodies were separate fiction books, their characters, translations, literary genres, thematic aspects, style, belles-lettres methods, and authors’ worldviews. Parodies were structurally featured by brevity (4 to 12 lines), heading sets (title, dedication, epigraph), single or strophic structures, dialogic patterns, quoted elements, and anaphora.
