Two anniversaries - one century

The article deals with more than 30 years of operation of the private education sector in Russia. The main reasons of its origin, features of functioning and development are analyzed. The analysis is based on a review of the activities of the Russian New University over the period of its 30-year existence. Its formation as a classical university with a technical bias is shown. The role of scientists widely known to the scientific community in the formation and development of the private educational sector is considered. The conclusion is made about the importance and necessity, as well as the viability of private educational organizations and the entire private educational sector as a whole.
