This article considers the trends and pattern of the Islamic movement Boko Haram, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, the reasons for their emergence and existence. From the frustration, caused by poverty and social discontentment, Boko Haram and other militants declared war on the state and all dissenters. They have been involved in series of murders, abductions and destruction. While Boko Haram engaged the State and members of the public in fierce attacks in the Northern Nigeria, other fighting groups have mounted against the Nigerian government and migrants in the Southern part of the country.
