В статье рассматриваются пять двусторонних стеклянных гемм, найденных в составе браслета на левом запястье ребенка в возрасте 2,5-3 лет из погребения № 13 кургана № 1 группы «Богомольные пески» около села Никольское Енотаевского района Астраханской области. Инвентарь захоронения дает основания для его датировки в широких рамках I - первой половины II в. н.э. Как и в скифских погребениях Приднепровья VI-IV вв. до н.э., стеклянные литики в кургане группы «Богомольные пески» были найдены в детском погребении. Они рассматривались их владельцами как украшения и амулеты, а не как средство для оттискивания изображений. Обращает на себя внимание тот факт, что изображения на сторонах одной и той же геммы редко смысловым образом связаны между собой, а скорее производят впечатление довольно случайного выбора сюжетов. Во многих случаях мотивы восходят к геммам позднеклассического и эллинистического времени. Учитывая тот факт, что изображения на литиках механически воспроизводились с инталий, есть основания для предположения о том, что это были произведения глиптики еще позднеэллинистического времени, которые теоретически могли использоваться для изготовления литиков и в более позднее время. Уникальность двусторонних литиков, с одной стороны, и распространение их в Северном Причерноморье в VI-IV вв. до н.э., с другой стороны, позволяют предполагать возможность происхождения находок, сделанных в сарматских погребениях Нижнего Поволжья, из мастерских Северного Причерноморья, возможно, Боспора.

Double-sided glass gems from the burial No. 13 of the kurgan no. 1 of the group “Bogomol’nye Peski-I”

The article examines five double-sided glass gems found as elements of a bracelet on the left wrist of a child aged 2,5-3 years in the burial no. 13 of the kurgan no. 1 of the “Bogomol’nye peski-I” group near the village of Nikol’skoe, EnotaevskiyDistrict, Astrakhan Region. Theinventoryofthe burial gives groundsfor its dating within a broad frame of the 1st - first halfof the 2nd centuryAD. As in the Scythian burials of the Dnieper region, glass gems in the kurgan of the “Bogomol’nye peski-I” group were found in a child’s burial. They were considered by their owners as items of jewelryand amulets, and not as a means for imprinting images. It is worth noting that the images on the sides of the same gem are rarely semantically related to each other, but rather give the impression of a rather random choice ofsubjects. In manycases, the motives goback togems of the late Classical and Hellenistic periods. Given the fact that the images on the glass gems were mechanicallyreproduced from intaglios, there is reason to suppose that these were works of glyptics from the late Hellenistic period, which could theoretically be used for making glass gems at a later period. The uniqueness of double-sided glass gems, on the one hand, and their distribution in the North Pontic region in the 6th-4th centuries BC, on the other hand, give grounds to suggest the possibilityof the origin of finds originating from the Sarmatian burials of the Lower Volga region from the workshops of the North Black Sea region, possiblyof the Bosporan Kingdom.
