One more sanctuary (?) near the Polyanka settlement

In 2020-2021 an isolated rectangular stone construction, with its walls oriented according to the cardinal directions, and an adjoining large causeway of good quality was examined on the top of a rocky ridge several dozens of meters southeast of the main excavation pit at the Polyanka settlement (1st century BC). Its size is 6,4 х 4,6 m. The interior included a segment-like dais (altar?) in the southeastern corner, a sort of a bin made up of flat and partially charred slabs and a section of a stone causeway, i. e. the floor. Most of the finds are not very informative and are few in number. Only a votive red clay small pot and a hand-made small glass-shaped incense-burner with two handles as well as its very unusual location and the entry facing east may, to some extent, suggest that this construction which is located near the earlier excavated constructions whose function does not cause any doubts is sacral. It is also difficult to refer this construction to residential buildings. The construction is most likely dated to the second half of the 3rd-2nd centuries BC.
