Is there life without oil and gas?

In the article, the issues of the dependence of Russia upon the carbohydrates deposits and the exaggerated influence of the oil and gas concept in the Russian society are analyzed. Oil and gas have become metaphysical, religious and mystic phenomenon, determining excessively much in Russian life. The concept of oil and gas hinders the modernization and the diversification of the Russian economy. Although still the inefficient management, lack of professional skills and incompetence of the leading political classes presents even more hindrance.
