The biblical concept of eternal life in the interpretation of F. M. Dostoevsky

This article presents the result of interdisciplinary research based on the principles of cognitive analysis of concepts. The authors consider the concept of “eternal life” as it is presented in the biblical texts. With the help of corpus tools, keywords are highlighted that represent a given concept in the Bible. The Gospel of John was taken as the main material, in the text of which the maximum frequency of the identified representatives was revealed. The first section of the article is devoted to the description of the concept’s nominative field, its cognitive interpretation. The second section is devoted to the analysis of the reflection of the studied concept in the works of F. M. Dostoevsky. The authors come to the conclusion that while the stylistic means used by the authors of the Bible and F. M. Dostoevsky are fundamentally different, the cognitive content of the concept “eternal life” is, on the whole, identical.
