The Jews of Yakutia at the late XIX century(case study of the first national census of 1897)

Basing upon the study of the first nationwide census of 1897, as well as some archival materials of that period, the article describes the Jewish population of Yakutia at the late XIX century. The authors consider the number of population, social class, employment status of Jews. The role and place of Jews in the Yakut society of the period are discussed.
