Factories of the future in the automotive industry of the Russian Federation: prerequisites for creation and limitations

Automotive industry is one of the key sectors of the Russian economy, which has a significant impact on the socio-economic and scientific and technical development of the country. In 2022, due to the sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation and violations of logistics chains, it faced a number of difficulties, leading to a 44.7 % drop in its industrial production index. It is advisable to solve the existing problems in the industry and fulfill the tasks set by the Russian Government to ensure technological sovereignty and localization level of at least 80 % by using advanced production technologies (APT), which are the basis for building “factories of the future”, in which design and production of new generation products are carried out in the shortest possible time. The creation of such projects requires huge investments, part of which can be obtained from the state, which annually allocates funds from the budget for various measures to support the automotive industry and created the Industrial Development Fund.
