Factors of democratic political transition: institutional and national aspects

The article analyzes the peculiarities of the turbulent nature of democratic transformations, the possibility of realizing the internal potential of states in the implementation of such transformations without taking into account the existing factors. It is acknowledged that not all states are unconditionally ready to accept democratic values and transform public consciousness, social institutions and management tactics under the new standards. Moreover, it is emphasized that democratization is not a universal means of achieving the sociopolitical stability of the country and its success as a global player. Examples are given of a strong statehood supported by an autocratic regime of government. The “fragile new democracies” that have arisen as a result of the transit of relevant values and strategies without taking into account the basic state of the political and social structure of the state are antagonistically presented. The author fixes the civilizational rift in the modern political landscape, the crisis of the concept of transitology and the process of democratic modernization, which manifests itself in the inefficiency of the ongoing transformations due to their insufficient theoretical justification and practical conditionality.
