Factors and background of development of production of buckwheat in the region

The share of the region in the Russian gross yield of buckwheat is estimated. The distribution of buckwheat crops by natural regions of the region is shown. The change in the structure of buckwheat production by categories of farms is characterized. The dynamics of sown areas, productivity and gross yield of buckwheat are considered. The main reason for increasing the production of buckwheat is named. A comparative analysis of the regional level of productivity with respect to biological, Russian and world levels. The reasons restraining productivity growth are listed. The direction of increasing productivity is proposed.
