Stability Anchors of Germany in the European Union 2020–2024

The article examines Germany’s behavior in the European Union during the “traffic light coalition” of three parties: the Social Democrats, the Greens, and the Liberals. The voting in the EU Council and EU budget policy highlights the priority of the following topics for Germany: agricultural policy, cohesion policy, redistribution of funds within the EU, migration policy, competitiveness, advanced technological projects, particularly the hydrogen project. The publications of European research centers for the period 2020–2024 are being examined. Based on an analysis of each area, the author concludes that these areas, with their specific characteristics, have established themselves as unique growth areas for Germany, given the current external influences on the European continent and the international affairs. Conclusion dwells upon the fact that Germany is currently actively shaping and promoting its interests in various areas, which contributes to strengthening its position in the European Union in the context of a complex international situation and constant changes in the political arena.
