Any enterprise, regardless of its industry affiliation, has faced the problems of the coronavirus pandemic. The sphere of ergonomics of the working space has not remained untouched. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we think about work. The coronavirus has stimulated the trend of abandoning office space in favor of working safely at home. However, most of the Russian population, having gone to work at home, was not prepared for working outside the office without a specially equipped working space: comfortable tables and ergonomic chairs. It would seem that in the conditions of self-isolation and remote work, when people have nothing to sit on and nothing to sit at, the business of selling and producing office chairs and adjustable tables should develop more than ever. But despite this, the field of workplace ergonomics also faced a number of challenges that businesses need to cope with, adapting to new conditions. This article examines the reasons for the paradox of the threat to the economic security of Russian companies engaged in the field of workplace ergonomics, regardless of the growing demand for office chairs and desks due to permitted remote work and self-isolation during the coronavirus pandemic.
