Interrogation in modern Russian criminal proceedings is one of the main investigative actions. Often there are criminal cases where the circumstances listed in Art. 73 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation are established solely on the basis of information obtained while interrogations. At the same time, the analysis of the studied criminal cases shows that interrogations are often conducted without proper preparation, the investigator acts without an interrogation plan, and, accordingly, does not achieve the intended objective. The article examines the factors that allow the investigator to build the necessary line of conduct during the interrogation, and to obtain the required information, and also considers the investigative situation as a preliminary investigation in general, and the situation of interrogation, including conflict. The authors offer ways out of the conflict situation and give recommendations for conducting the interrogation.
