The author shows how information content of new media forms a picture of the world in various verbal and visual codes. Media texts form a rich socio-cultural, political and economic, scientific and practical semiotic field. The most important characteristics of media content are digitalization, multimedia and intertextuality. Semiotic codes of media content translate personal meanings, social stereotypes, cultural codes, historical memory, author's intentions, etc.
