Pharmacognostic analysis of fruits of Carum buriaticum

The extensive family of Apiaceae is the richest source of biologically active substances: coumarins, chromons, flavonoids and other natural compounds [1]. Among promising but less wellnown representatives of the family Apiaceae is Carum buriaticum Turcz. The area of growth of this species covers the territories of the Russian Federation, Mongolia and China. Within our country it occurs in the republics of Buryatia, Altai, Tuva, Khakassia, Yakutia, and also grows in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Irkutsk and Chita regions. Inthe Republic of Buryatia it grows in several large areas: Barguzinsky, Tunkinsky, Okinsky, Dzhidinsky, Pribaikalsky, Selenginskiy districts [2]. It is known that Carum buriaticum has been used in the traditional medicine of Tibet and Mongolia for thousands of years, but at the moment the state of knowledge on the object remains insufficient.
