“Faust” by Anne Imhof as a contemporary image of hell

Author analyzes one of recent contemporary art projects regarding its ability to represent the concept of hell which is considered to be among the most essential cultural concepts of European consciousness. The process of revealing this concept on different levels of the artwork is explored, along with fixing its transformation's specifics in the space of contemporary culture. While analyzing, contemporary cultural theories are taken into account, in particular, Z. Bauman' concept of "liquid modernity” is used.
