Phase formation in Ag2MoO4-Al2O3-MoO3 system was studied for the first time and its subsolidus phase diagram was plotted. Formation of double molybdate AgAl(MoO4)2 was confirmed and the structure of this compound (structure type NaFe(MoO4)2, monoclinic crystal system, sp. gr. C2/c, Z = 4), was determined by Ritweld's method. The principal framework elements are parallel (001) corner-sharing AlO6 octahedra and MoO4 tetrahedra. Silver cations Ag+ (CN = 4+2), arranging between the layers, link them into single structure.
