In the provided article the role of labor unions in development of employment relationships is staticized. Features of the European model of employment relationships are considered. Need of accumulation of positive experience of the European countries in relation to work of labor unions in modern Russia is determined.

Now employment relationships are impossible without participation in them of the trade-union organizations whose role is one of fundamental in the relations between the worker and the employer. Studying the directions of increase in a role of labor unions in modern conditions of development of managerial strategy, it is necessary to consider features of the European model of employment relationships which essence is as follows:

  • 1.    there are so-called working recommendations which are an analog of labor union, but at the same time they have no all powers which labor unions have.

  • 2.    The government actively interferes with negotiation process;

  • 3.    In case of discussion and adoption of collective agreements several labor unions can take part.

  • 4.    Collective bargainings happen around economic and social problems;

  • 5.    Collective bargainings happen within a cooperation, at the same time the parties are social partners.

So, for example, in France there can be several labor unions, in one industry which unite the same workers, and, at the same time, everyone them them can sign the collective agreement with them. In Great Britain there can be only one representative body, and only it has the right to the conclusion of the collective agreement with workers. In the countries of continental Europe exists industry collective agreements, it is caused by the fact that labor unions have the right to sign the collective agreement with several employers from different industries of economy.

In Russia labor unions are an obligatory subject of employment relationships. At the same time today it is observed strengthenings of line items of labor unions in collective and contractual process.

Labor unions have the rights on the solution of the questions concerning compensation, working conditions, its safety to create territorial, branch and professional associations, and to work according to the charters and collective agreements, etc. accepted by them.

Respectively, considering the European experience it is necessary to take measures for creation of optimum coordination of interests of workers and employers that will promote in turn forming of the directions for enhancement of activities of labor unions in Russia to promote formation of the directions for improvement of activity of labor unions in Russia [1,2].
