In the practice of modern media, it is increasingly necessary to meet such a phenomenon as fake. Under this term, it is customary to understand the unreliability of the information offered by the media or journalists, regardless of the type. The frequency of the identified precedents suggests that such a segment of professional activity of media workers as fake journalism has now been formed. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the possibilities and defects of the network information space in comparison with traditional media (newspapers, magazines, radio, television, news agencies). Today, we observe the problems in terms of the reliability of information that constantly arise in connection with the active use of the Web as a source of information, facts, data, opinions and judgments. The existing problem determines the relevance of the study, because it concerns the issue of trust in journalism both on the part of the audience and on the part of those who study the basics of this profession in universities. In this regard, the aim of the study is to substantiate the need for contextual application of the situation of fakeization for the effectiveness of vocational training. The study also observes the use of methods for recognizing fake information that contribute to the disclosure of its inadequate connotations with reality, the introduction into professional practice of methods of protection and opposition to this type of information manipulation. In this situation, the main point of training at the bachelor’s and master’s degrees is the development of methods for identifying fakes, revealing their inadequate connotations with reality, and introducing methods of protecting and countering this type of information manipulation into professional practice. Provided the methodological basis of the study. The works of Russian and foreign scientists in the field of modern information space. In the course of work on the article in terms of determining the methods of recognizing fake information, the author applied such methods of scientific knowledge as analysis and generalization. In terms of discussing the results of the research, formulating conclusions, the synthesis method was applied. As a result, the article proposes a substantiation of the possible effectiveness of the use of fakes as a methodological visual material. It also proposes specific and possible training journalistic practices with the active use of fakes as a basic empirical material based on the experience of not only modern media, but from other types of communication exchange information. The author of the article also gives recommendations on the use of the latest scientific and pragmatically oriented works of domestic and foreign theorists and media practitioners in the process of teaching future journalists.
