In prerevolutionary Russia, a mass celebration as a tool of identity formation and socialization is the prerogative of the institution of the church in post-revolutionary state paternalism substitutes the function designated by the institute. At the junction of the formation of the new Soviet ceremonial tradition occupies a special place contrary celebration phenomenon, which was a buffer between Tsarist and Soviet Russia, contributing to the effective mobilization of the population.
