The article is devoted to the analysis of critical essays by Ivan Goncharov. The essays A Million of Tortures, Again «Hamlet» on the Russian Stage, »Christ in the Desert». The picture of Ivan Kramskoy and Notes about the Personality of Belinski are analyzed from the viewpoint of «the personality of the writer and his text». In the article the psychological sources of the figure of hero-fighter are revealed.
