The phenomenon of tolerance and its formation in the course of educational activities of a military university

The article emphasizes the relevance of solving the problem of mutual understanding between people. Analysis of psychological and pedagogical scientific sources allows us to state that many scientists are working on the concept of tolerance formation in young people. Despite active work in this direction, a specific model of tolerance formation in cadets of a military university has not yet been created. A solution to this problem is proposed during the implementation of tolerance formation stages in the educational process of the university. The article substantiates the main task of tolerance - the development of a need for communication and cooperation in a person despite other beliefs and life attitudes. The author’s model of the formation and development of a sense of tolerance in cadets during classes and everyday activities in a military university has been developed, which includes a systematic and planned implementation of three stages - individual goal-setting, intellectual activity and implementation. The substantive content of the stages of tolerance formation is discussed: at each of them, students receive the necessary knowledge about the culture of society, military culture; practice tolerance skills both individually and in a military team, with a teacher and civilians; cadets are included in social, intellectual and public activities. As a result, the author states that cadets have an increased interest in military service, motivation to master advanced weapons, military and special equipment. These processes influence the self-educational activities of subjects, contribute to the eradication of conflict situations in military groups, which has a positive effect on the formation of a worldview, an active life position, a tolerant attitude towards another culture and, in general, contributes to the social maturity of young people.
