This article publishes a review of the Second Ilyin Readings, a scientific and educational project of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy “Byzantine Cabinet”, which took place on December 12, 2024, in a remote format and brought together leading Russian scientists studying the life and work of the great Russian philosopher I. A. Ilyin. It is shown that Ilyin’s creative legacy is extremely relevant, in demand and opens up the broadest horizons for researchers. The participants in the readings find more and more new topics and aspects that are of great interest not only to specialists in the field of Russian philosophy, history, cultural studies and art history, but also to modern society as a whole. It is emphasized that I. A. Ilyin is the creator of an original philosophy of the Russian Renaissance, the key tasks of which are to raise ideals for the younger generation, form a correct understanding of freedom and forge a national spiritual character — with a wise “singing” heart and a cordial mind.
