The paper is devoted to the study of the interdisciplinary phenomenon in the philosophy of creativity context, namely how the generation of knowledge is produced in case of deep holistic innovative content synthesis. The concepts of extensional and intensional approaches to the interpretation of interdisciplinary synthesis nature are introduced. Weaknesses of the extensional understanding dominant in modern science are revealed. It is shown how the intensional approach to the interpretation of the interdisciplinary phenomenon manages to overcome the identified limitations. True interdisciplinary mode of synthesis is correlated not with a quantitative increase in knowledge, but with providing of a qualitative leap in knowledge generation. To clarify the subtle points of the procedure for the formation of new knowledge, the concepts of summativity and integrity are compared. It is shown that holistic mode in human knowledge is a thing that is born in the mode of non-dual integrity of the acquired experience and the person living it. The holistic content doesn’t contain ready-made components at the time of its production. In the state of non-dual integrity, there is neither a researcher receiving experience, nor the experience getting by him - in the status of isolated realities - but there is a holistic non-dual fusion that does not break down into its components «creative person - creative task». The transformation of integrity, carried out by a person completely immersed in the creative process, provides new meanings that could not be obtained in the dual mode of self- and world-view.
