The philosophy of life and death in the poetry of A. P. Bunina

The article is devoted to the philosophical themes in the works of A. P. Bunina, recognized as a pioneer of women’s lyric poetry in Russian literature. The article’s subject is the philosophy of life and death in her poetry during different periods of her creative journey. Through analysis, the author concludes that the themes of life's meaning and the inevitability of death are intricately linked in Bunina’s work to the influence of religion and God’s authority over humanity, forming one of the central aspects of her poetry. The research expands the understanding of the thematic range of Bunina’s philosophical lyricism. Questions of existence, the meaning of life, love, loss, and death constitute a motif-thematic complex, revealed through the unique perspective of feminine perception. The significance of this research lies not only in the value of the facts related to Bunina’s artistic worldview and perception of the world but also in the acknowledgment that a woman writer’s personal cognitive experience becomes an essential part of the collective understanding of reality.
