Philosophical foundations of charitable assistance for children in Russia

The article analyzes the complex process of formation and development of public charity for children in Russia. Both theoretical principles and practice of assistance were considered. Conclusions are drawn that the development of the practice of education and upbringing, social assistance to children in Russia was significantly influenced by the ideas of enlightenment philosophers. As a consequence of the efforts of Russian educators was the formation of a system of state child care.
