Philosophical, historical, theoretical and methodological aspects of language category and its institutions development

The paper analyses such language institutions as: semiotics, semantics, pragmatics and syntactics. The main aspects of their use have been reviewed. The author discusses the possibility of considering the concept of "specification" in the framework of the language institution as a form of reflection and expression of cognitive, semantic and informational content of human activity.
