The article conducts philosophic and etymological analysis of the notion «education». The author pays special attention to philosophic understanding of «education» giving two possible interpretations of the notion «truth» in the sphere of education basing on the analysis of Plato's Myth of the Cave and its interpretation by М. Heidegger.
