Philosophical and methodological aspects of the historical representation of the Battle of Borodino in Tolstoy's novel "War and peace"

The article deals with the issue of epistemological potentials of fiction narrative in the sphere of historical knowledge. In accordance with current methodological way of research in humanities, this issue is considered in the framework of case study. The author examines the epistemological status of the novel War and peace by Leo Tolstoy in the context of historiographical descriptions of the battle of Borodino.
