The paper deals with philosophical, anthropological, and psychological views of P.D. Yurkevich and the attempts to determine the subject of psychological knowledge by means of philosophical methods. As the narrow opinion of empirical psychology consisted in the inability to detect extrasensory existence in the inner human experience, the philosopher reviewed the theoretical psychology as a science of human spirit based on the aspects of subjectivation and the beginning of metaphysics which created the inductive method in psychology. P.D. Yurkevich expanded the cognitive perspective of a person by metaphysical issues, the statement on concrete idealism, implying the real existence of the perfect substance expressed in the laws of development of real phenomena, objects, and processes. His main achievement was the basis for the concept of metaphysics of the heart as both moral and intellectual essence of personality that was reflected in psychology and the theory of education.
