Philosophical doctrine of D. P. Mirtov, professor of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy (on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth)

This article is devoted to the study of the philosophical heritage of the professor of the St. Petersburg Teological Academy, Dmitry Pavlovitch Mirtov (1867-1941) and is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of his birth. Mirtov’s writings are still litle-known. However, the scientist was a student of professor of Academy M. I. Karinsky. Myrtov’s interests rested on the problems of epistemology, logic, the history of philosophy, the problems of religion and faith. On the example of the fundamental study on the philosophy of Hermann Lotze D. P. Mirtov studied the problems of the relationship between faith and reality. In the article, with the example of several works of Mirtov, the formation of his philosophical views, from the philosophy of Chr. Wolff, Chr. Baumeister, to the first teachers of the philosophy of St. Petersburg, hieromonk Eugene and Ign. Fessler. Te article analyzes Mirtov’s works on Clement of Alexandria and Herman Lotze. Te article presents a critical analysis by D. P. Mirtov of the concept of Lotze’s panentheism
