The terminal Paleolithic and Mesolithic of the Meshchera lowlands: the contemporary view

Бесплатный доступ

The historiographical corpus of data on the Mesolithic and the TerminalPaleolithic in the Meshchera Lowlands was compiled, mostly, in 1975-1995; it comprisesmore than 150 sites, including 45 sites excavated. Materials from the Resseta andthe Ahrensburg cultures from the Terminal Paleolithic and three Mesolithic cultures suchas the Zadnee Pilevo, the Kulta and the Purgasovo cultures were documented withinthe region. Uniqueness of homogeneous assemblages and numerous collections withmulticultural signs the origin of which does not appear to be linked to cultural and historicalcontexts is a specific feature of outwash geo-archaeological sites.
