The main cause of damage to the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee joint is an injury, which is more often suffered by young people and athletes who lead a sporty lifestyle. The anterior cruciate ligament is an important articular element of the knee joint that stabilizes this joint. Rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee joint is manifested by pain, swelling, restriction of movement in the joint, and sometimes joint blockade. Conservative methods of treatment are aimed at reducing swelling and pain, eliminating joint blockage, and, if possible, restoring movement in the damaged knee joint. What is the danger of damage to the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee joint? When a person consciously, or for some other reason, for example, an undiagnosed diagnosis, refuses treatment for a long time, arthrosis of the knee joint awaits him ahead. A rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee joint is often combined with a rupture of the menisci and other ligaments. The indication for surgical intervention is instability of the knee joint. During the operation, plastic surgery of the anterior cruciate ligament is performed using its tendons and ligaments or synthetic materials.
