The article examines the importance of the family as the primary institution of socialization for the education of citizenship, morality and a healthy attitude to sports among children in modern society, especially in the context of the declaration of 2024 as the year of the family in Russia. The authors emphasize that family values and common concerns contribute to the formation of skills and norms of behavior, as well as a healthy lifestyle in children. The article provides arguments that the participation of parents in the physical education of children through joint activities and personal example contributes to their physical and spiritual development. Various types of physical activity that can be carried out in the family are described, and the need to maintain a balance between lack and excess of physical activity in children is noted. In conclusion, it is emphasized that the basis for successful physical education in the family is the personal example of parents, taking care of a healthy lifestyle and systematic sports activities in the family circle. The main idea of the article is that the process of physical education of children in the family requires not only knowledge about the correct methods and exercises, but also the active participation and involvement of parents as role models.
