Fantasy and science fiction are often considered to be opponents in literature. Meanwhile, today in Russian fiction literature there is a strong tendency to fuse the elements of fantasy and science fiction in one text. The author of the article analyses the fantasies by N. Perumov, A. Pechov and S. Loginov. These works of literature combine the elements of fantasy and science fiction novels. To denote this new phenomenon the author suggests a new term "steampunk fantasy". This kind of fantasy presents the problem of man and man's attitude which is not typical of the both genres regarded separately. In this way steampunk fantasy opens an anthropocentric prospect in fantasy fiction.
