The funds of the State Archive of the Republic of Buryatia as a study source of the history of orthodoxy in Buryatia from the 17th to the late 19th century

This article analyzes the funds of the State Archive of the Republic of Buryatia as a source for studying the history of Orthodoxy in Buryatia from the 17th to the late 19th century. The documents of Orthodox churches stored in the State Archive of the Republic of Buryatia are of great value as they serve as an indispensable source for studying the history of Buryatia. However, this complex of documents is still insufficiently studied and presents great interest for researchers. The article classifies the documents and specifies the information contained in various types of historical sources. In conclusion, it emphasizes the importance of preserving historical heritage and notes that researchers, historians, and local historians today face the task of bringing as many documents on the history of Orthodox churches as possible into scholarly circulation.
